Boy hit by Farooq’s security vehicle, injured

JAMMU, Nov 17: A minor boy today got injured after he was allegedly hit by the security vehicle of former Union Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah, here on city outskirts.
According to the sources, the former Union Minister and MP had gone to Bajalta this afternoon to condole the demise of a Jawan of Assam Rifles martyred in an IED blast in Chandel district of Manipur on November 13.
They said that while the former Minister was on way back to his residence, one of the security vehicles escorting him allegedly hit a boy namely Mohd Yaseen (8), son of Mohammad Rafiq, resident of Bajalta, who was on his way to home from school.
Sources said that the boy had suffered a fracture in his leg and was immediately rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu for treatment by the security officials of former Union Minister.
”The injured boy was provided immediate treatment at GMCH after which his family members got him discharged on request and took to a hospital in Amritsar for specialized treatment,” sources added.
