UDHAMPUR, Nov 19: A young boy and a girl allegedly attempted suicide by consuming some poisonous substance near Salian Talab Mini Bus Stand, here today.
A police spokesman said that Sakshi of Baraian and Sushant Balotra (23) son of Jawahar Lal, resident of Jaganoo, Udhampur, consumed some poisonous substance under mysterious circumstances at Salian Talab Udhampur.
Some locals noticed them in serious condition and rushed them to District Hospital Udhampur. In view of serious condition of the duo, doctors referred them to GMC Hospital Jammu.
According to SHO Udhampur, Inspector Chaman Gorkha, statement of both boy and the girl could not be recorded because of their serious condition. Cause of the incident can be known only after their statement is recorded, he added.
