KATHUA/RAJOURI, Sept 8: A minor boy drowned in a village pond in Kathua while five persons were injured in a road accident on Jammu-Rajouri road near Nowshera this evening.
A police spokesman said that 14-year-old Raghubir Singh, son of Dharam Singh resident of Bhallarh village went to take bath in a pond at the village. He slipped into the pond and drowned. His body was later fished out by the villagers. He was student of class 8th.
Meanwhile, five persons were injured when a bus and Tempo Traveler collided at Thalka village near Nowshera this evening. Three injured were shifted to Rajouri hospital while two others to Nowshera and later referred to GMC hospital Jammu. They have been identified as driver of Tempo, Ved Parkash of Sunderbani and Rimpy, daughter of Jagan Nath of Peeri.
Meanwhile, a lineman of PDD was injured after he fell down from a pole while restoring light in a locality at Arnia village of Bishnah. Identified as Darshan Lal son of Gian Chand of Arnia, he was removed to Bishnah hospital and later referred to GMC, hospital Jammu.
