RAJOURI, Aug 27: A 15-year-old boy died by consuming some poisonous substance under mysterious circumstances at local Ashram in Sunderbani area today.
The police sources said Vishal Kumar, son of Vijay Kumar, resident of Chhanni Himmat, Jammu was studying in Guru Gangdev Model Academy Shiv Kashi, Ashram Sunderbani. The boy used to live in the Ashram along with other inmates. The boy in serious condition was rushed to Sunderbani hospital by the inmates where doctors washed his stomach and referred him to GMC Jammu but he died on the way.
SHO Sunderbani when contacted said that as per Ashram inmates and staff, the boy failed in exams. He had given some time to perform. In between his father was also called by School staff and he was told about the poor performance of the child. Two days earlier also he could not do well in the test and today afternoon he brought some substance from outside and consumed in the Ashram. He also shared this with one of the inmates and also told to tell at his residence that he had consumed poison. Upon this, the other boys raised alarm. The boy had bolted doors from inside. The door was broken and he was removed to hospital. The police has started investigation into the case.
