Bovines smuggling bids foiled

JAMMU, Aug 16: Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli Police foiled bovines smuggling bids.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Nagrota laid a naka and apprehended a man along with 9 bovine animals, which he was taking towards Kashmir on foot.
The arrested person was identified as Mohd Younis, son of Jamal Din of Kalyanpur District Jammu. His associate namely Meedu, son of Mirza of Rajpura, Kanachack managed to escape from the spot by taking benefit of the darkness and hunt is launched to nab him.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli during patrolling in Salore area also arrested a cattle smuggler and rescued 12 bovine animals, which he was taking towards Srinagar on foot.
The accused was identified as Abdul Rashid, son of Fareed of Galeote District Udhampur.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at Police Stations Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
Police teams led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh and SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Vikram Sharma foiled the bovines smuggling bids under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar and SP Rural Jammu Sanjay Sharma.
