Bovines smuggling bids foiled

KATHUA, May 13: Rajbagh and Hiranagar Police foiled bovines smuggling bids.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Rajbagh led by SHO Inspector Amit Sangra under the supervision of SDPO Border Pankaj Soodan and SSP Kathua RC Kotwal laid a naka near Chak Chabba and signalled a Mahindra load carrier bearing registration number JK02CA-4239 to stop for checking.
On seeing police party, the driver failed to control the speed of the vehicle and it turned turtle, but the driver managed to flee away from the spot.
During checking, police team rescued 5 bovine animals from the vehicle and seized it.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Hiranagar led by SHO Inspector Sunil Kumar under the supervision of SDPO Border Pankaj Soodan and SSP Kathua RC Kotwal during checking near Londi Morh intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK14D-3237.
During checking, police team rescued 4 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested one person, who was identified as Tanvir Ahmed Chowhan, son of Jan Mohammad of District Anantnag.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Stations Rajbagh and Hiranagar and investigation started.
