Bovines smuggling bids foiled, 48 cattle rescued

JAMMU, Feb 1: Manwal and Nagrota Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 48 bovine animals.
As per police sources, a team from Police Post Manwal laid a naka and intercepted five vehicles.
During checking, police team rescued 43 bovine animals and seized the vehicles.
Cases under relevant Sections were registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Police Post Manwal PSI Ayub Khan rescued the cattle under the supervision of SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Devinder Singh, SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Nagrota led by SHO Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh laid a naka and intercepted a Mahindra Bolero vehicle bearing registration number JK02CR-1566 loaded with vegetables.
During checking, police team rescued five bovine animals from beneath the vegetables and seized the vehicle.
A case under FIR Number 41/2022 under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and hunt has been launched to nab the cattle smuggler(s), who managed to escape from the spot by taking benefit of the darkness.
