JAMMU, Mar 18: Gharota police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 7 cattle and arresting four persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gharota Police Station laid a naka at Kangar and intercepted a Tata Ace auto.
During checking, police rescued 3 cattle from the vehicle and arrested three bovine smugglers, while one accused managed to escape from the spot.
Meanwhile, the team also intercepted a person, who was carrying four cattle at Kalyar.
During questioning, the person failed to give satisfactory reply and police arrested him and rescued four cattle.
Cases under FIR Numbers 26/18 and 27/18 under Sections 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act have been registered at Gharota Police Station and investigation started.
