Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 33 cattle rescued, 4 smugglers arrested

JAMMU, Jan 28: Nagrota, Lakhanpur and Assar Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 33 cattle and arresting four smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Nagrota laid checking points near TCP and Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted two Tata Mobile vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02AL-9296 and JK02CA-5132.
During checking, police team rescued six bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested two cattle smugglers, who were identified as Shoket Ali, son of Lal Hussain of Purana Pind Tehsil RS Pura District Jammu and Gouns Ali Shah, son of Muzaffer Hussain of District Rajouri.
Cases under FIR Numbers 35/2021 and 36/2021 under relevant Sections of law have been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Lakhanpur led by SHO Inspector Sanjeev Chib laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB07AS-1813.
During checking, police team rescued 15 bovine animals from the vehicle and seized it, while the accused managed to escape from the spot.
A case under FIR Number 15/2021 under Section 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Lakhanpur and investigation started.
In another similar incident, a team from Police Station Assar during checking intercepted a Kashmir bound Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK06A-7950.
During checking, police team rescued 12 cattle from the vehicle and arrested two bovines’ smugglers, who were identified as Irshad Ahmed, son of Mohammad Yousuf, a resident of Kastigarh and Mohammad Rafi, son of Gul Mohammad, resident of Bhagwah.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Assar and investigation initiated.
