JAMMU, Jan 19: Nagrota police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ foiled bovines smuggling by rescuing 33 cattle and arresting three smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information about cattle smuggling, a team from Nagrota Police Station laid nakas at different locations and intercepted three Srinagar bound trucks.
During checking, police rescued 33 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested three smugglers.
The arrested persons have been identified as Fareed Ahmed, son of Sai Mohammad of Baralla, District Udhampur, Adil Manzoor, son of Manzoor Malik, a resident of Daspura, Tehsil Banihal, District Ramban and Raj Kumar, son of Dhan Kumar, a resident of Nepal, at present Upper Gadigarh.
Cases under FIR Numbers 43/19, 44/19 and 45/19 under sections 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act have been registered at Nagrota Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Deepak Pathania foiled the cattle smuggling bids and arrested the smugglers under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma and SP Rural Jammu Dushyant Sharma.
