Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 32 cattle rescued, 10 arrested

JAMMU, Dec 29: Nagrota, Jhajjar Kotli and Sidhra Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 32 cattle and arresting 10 persons.
As per police sources, teams from Police Station Nagrota led by SHO Inspector Vishav Partap Singh, Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Devinder Singh and Police Post Sidhra led by SI Shakil Ahmed laid check points in their respective areas and intercepted vehicles bearing registration number JK02AK-7167, JK03B-3738, JK02BA-5286 and JK02CP-2486.
During checking, police team rescued 32 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested 10 cattle smugglers, who were identified as Rafqat Ahmed, son of Mohammad Sharief of Sangar Larnu District.Anantnag, Haroon Ahmed, son of Abdul Majid Kasana of Qazigund District Anantnag, Rajinder Choudhary, son of Darshan Lal Choudhary of RS Pura District Jammu, Pottu, son of Jamal Din of Belicharana District Jammu, Afraz Ahmed Khatana, son of Mohammad Sharif Khatana of Keharpora Kokarnag District Anantnag, Jameel Ahmed, son of Gulzar Ahmed of Bazipora District Anantnag, Mumtaz Ahmed, son of Fareed Ahmed of District Anantnag, Mohammad Iqbal, son of Abdul Rashid of District Anantnag, Jaffar Ahmed, son of Fareed Ahmed of Ragoora District Jammu and Imran Ahmed, son of Liaqat Ali of Lower Munda Dooru District Anantnag.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Stations Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
The arrest and recoveries were made under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
