JAMMU, Mar 22: Jhajjar Kotli Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 30 cattle and arresting 4 persons.
As per police sources, during checking a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Rajesh Khajuria intercepted two trucks bearing registration numbers JK02BT-6357 and Jk02BV-9657.
During checking, police team rescued 30 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested four persons, who were transporting the cattle to Kashmir without valid permission.
The arrested persons were identified as Nisar Ahmad, son of Ghulam Qadir, Zakir Hussain, son of Jaleel Ahmad, Zahid Khatana, son of Bashir Ahmed and Showkat Ahmad, son of Sana Ullah, all residents of District Anantnag.
Two cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
