Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 19 cattle rescued, 4 arrested

JAMMU, Feb 5: Nagrota Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 19 cattle and arresting four persons.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Nagrota and intercepted three vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02AU-4955, JK02CV-1420 and JK02CC-1728 near Ban Toll Plaza Nagrota.
During checking, police team rescued 19 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested four persons, who were identified as Hanief of Shamachak Jhiri District Jammu, Iqbal of Kokernag District Anantnag, Abdul Qadeer of Kokernag District Anantnag and Rayees Ahmed of Kokernag District Anantnag.
Three cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
