JAMMU, Aug 3: Jhajjar Kotli and Bhaderwah police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 15 cattle and arresting two persons.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station laid a naka near Suketar and intercepted a Srinagar bound truck bearing registration number JK02BU-4542.
During checking, police rescued 4 cattle from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Mohammad Aslam (driver), son of Mohammad Qasim, a resident of Agrachak, Tehsil RS Pura and Mohammad Javed, son of Balal Din of Kalali, Tehsil RS Pura.
A case under FIR Number 75/18 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Jhajjar Kotli Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Ajay Singh Chib foiled the bovines smuggling bid under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Yashbir Slathia and SP Rural Dushyant Sharma.
Meanwhile, a team from Bhaderwah Police Station rescued 11 bovine animals, while the accused smugglers managed to escape from the spot by taking benefit of the darkness.
A case under FIR Number 127/18 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Bhaderwah and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bhaderwah Inspector Muneer Khan foiled the bid under the supervision of SDPO Bhaderwah Tussif Ahmed, Additional SP Bhaderwah Rajinder Singh and SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir.
