SAMBA, Mar 28: Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 14 cattle and arresting one person.
As per police sources, a team from Ghagwal Police Station led by SHO Ghagwal Inspector Amit Andotra under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Samba Deepak Digra laid a naka at Tapyal and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AE-5455.
During checking, police rescued 12 bovine animals from the vehicle and seized it. A case under FIR Number 52/18 under Section 188, 177 and 184 RPC and 2/3 PCA Act has been registered at Ghagwal Police Station and hunt has been launched to nab the truck driver, who managed to escape from the spot.
Meanwhile, a team from Samba Police Station led by SHO Samba Inspector Chanchal Singh under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Samba Deepak Digra laid a naka and intercepted a auto load carrier.
Police rescued 2 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Lal Hussain, son of Fakir Mohammad, a resident of Ragura, Sidhra.
A case under FIR Number 84/18 under Section 188 RPC and 2/3 PCA Act has been registered at Samba Police Station and investigation started.
