SAMBA, May 26: Ghagwal police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 26 cattle.
As per police sources, a team from Ghagwal Police Station during checking at Tapyal intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AE-0625.
During checking, police rescued 10 cattle from the vehicle and seized it, while the accused driver managed to escape from the spot.
Meanwhile, Ghagwal police also rescued 16 cattle from a dumper bearing registration number PB08CP-6137 during checking at Nonath. The cattle smuggler fled away from the spot.
Cases under FIR Numbers 82/18 and 83/18 have been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
