Bovines smuggling bid foiled, man arrested with illicit liquor

JAMMU, July 22: Jhajjar Kotli Police foiled bovines smuggling bid, while Gajansoo Police arrested a man along with illicit liquor.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Devinder Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh laid a naka and intercepted a Srinagar bound vehicle bearing registration number JK08F-9054.
During checking, police team rescued 8 bovine animals and seized the vehicle.
A case under FIR Number 129/2021 under Sections 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Border Police Post (BPP) Gajansoo led by ASI Manjeet Singh under the supervision of SHO Kanachack Inspector Vishav Partap Singh, SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma laid a naka and apprehended one person along with 38 bottles of illicit liquor.
The arrested person was identified as Vijay Kumar, son of Ajit Raj, a resident of Gajansoo, District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 104/2021 under Section 48 (a) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Kanachack and investigation started.
