Bovines smuggling bid foiled, 14 cattle rescued

JAMMU, Dec 14: Bagh-e-Bahu police foiled bovines smuggling bid by rescuing 14 cattle from a truck on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
As per police sources, a team from Bagh-e-Bahu police station laid a naka on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and signaled a Srinagar bound truck bearing registration number JK02AE-7811 to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and escaped from the spot. Stinking something fishy, the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle, but the driver managed to escape from the spot.
During checking, police rescued 14 bovine animals and seized the truck.
A case under FIR Number 113/16 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Bagh-e-Bahu police station and hunt has been launched to nab the accused driver.
Police team led by SHO Bagh-e-Bahu Inspector Vijay Choudhary foiled the bovines smuggling bid under the supervision of SDPO East Chandan Kohli and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
