JAMMU, Dec 17: Akhnoor police under ‘Operation Kamdhenu’ foiled bovines smuggling bid by rescuing 13 cattle from a truck.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, a team from Akhnoor police station laid a naka at Daskal Morh and signaled a truck bearing registration number JK02T-7660 to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and escaped from the spot. Stinking something fishy, the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle, but the driver managed to escape from the spot.
During checking, police rescued 13 bovine animals and seized the truck.
A case under FIR Number 184/16 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Akhnoor police station and hunt has been launched to nab the accused driver.
Police team led by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Pushpinder Singh foiled the bovines smuggling bid under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Gurvinder Pal Singh and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
