Bovines smuggling bid foiled, 12 cattle rescued

UDHAMPUR, July 21: Police foiled bovines smuggling bid by rescuing 12 cattle.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Udhampur Police Station laid a naka at Jakheni and signaled a Srinagar bound truck bearing registration number JK02BJ-0498.
On seeing police the driver parked the vehicle on the road side and escaped from the spot by taking the advantage of the dense forest.
During checking, police rescued 12 cattle from the truck and seized it.
A case under FIR Number 353/18 under Section 188 and 295-A RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Udhampur Police Station and hunt has been launched to nab the accused driver.
Police team led by SHO Udhampur Inspector Vijay Choudhary and assisted by SI Bupesh Singh and SgCt Abdul Qayoom foiled the bovines smuggling bid under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kulbir Handa and SSP Udhampur Rayees Mohammad Bhat.
