Bovine smuggling bids foiled; 34 cattle rescued, 3 arrested

JAMMU, Jan 2: Nagrota police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 34 bovine animals and arresting three smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nagrota Police Station laid a naka near Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted four vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02AL-6095, JK02AK-5571, JK02CJ-8284 and JK02CF-3081.
During checking, police team rescued 34 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested three smugglers, who have been identified as Mohammad Mushtaq, son of Mirza of Domi Malpur District Jammu, Shoket Ali, son of Mohammad Iqbal of Hanaja District Doda and Mohammad Imran, son of Mohammad Hanif of Bakerwal Chak Qazigund Kashmir.
Cases under FIR Number 1/2020, 3/2020, 7/2020 and 8/2020 under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma.
