Bovine smuggling bids foiled; 22 cattle rescued, one arrested

RAMBAN/DODA, July 31: Dharmkund and Dessa police foiled bovine smuggling bids by rescuing 22 cattle and arresting one person.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Dharmkund Police Station laid a naka near Sumber and intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK02AW-2743.
During checking, police rescued 8 cattle from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Nazakat Ali, son of Abdul Gani, a resident of Sumber, District Ramban.
A case under FIR Number 35/18 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Dharmkund Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Dharmkund Inspector Ajeet Singh made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Asgar Ali, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Mohan Lal.
Meanwhile, a team from Dessa Police Station intercepted a person carrying flock of bovine animals.
During questioning, the person failed to give satisfactory reply and after finding a loop hole, managed to escape into the thick forest.
Police rescued 14 cattle, which the accused person was smuggling to Anantnag.
A case under FIR Number 14/18 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Dessa Police Station and hunt has been launched to nab the accused.
Police team led by SHO Dessa Inspector Inderpal Singh foiled the bovines smuggling bid under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Doda Iftkhar Ahmed, SP Operations RP Singh and SSP Doda Mohammed Shabir.
