UDHAMPUR, Aug 5: Jhajjar Kotli Police today foiled a bid of bovine smuggling and rescued eight animals besides arresting the accused.
Reports said that acting on specific information, a Police party from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station laid a naka on Katra-Domail road and stopped a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK02W-6327. Eight bovine animals, loaded in the vehicle for smuggling to Kashmir Valley, were rescued by the cops. Police also arrested driver of the Tata Mobile, identified as Gurdeep Singh of Ward number 2, Simbal Camp, R S Pura.
A case FIR under section 188 RPC, 3/5 PC Act has been registered in this connection.
