Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 3 arrested

DODA, June 13: Gandoh police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 3 cattle and arresting as many suspected bovine smugglers.
As per police while on routine night checking and patrolling duty at Bus Stand Gandoh, a team of Police Station Gandoh signalled a vehicle (load carrier) bearing registration number JK06A-9380 which was on its way from Changa to Thathri, to stop.
“However, the driver of the vehicle accelerated the vehicle seeing police party, which later chased and stopped the vehicle at a distance,” sources said, adding, on checking, 3 bovine animals were found loaded in the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle namely Sayed Anwer son of Dost Mohd, resident of Chinyas (Tehsil Chilly Pingal) and two other persons travelling with him were arrested by the police.
A case FIR number 60/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 P C Act was registered in this connection at Police Station Gandoh and further investigation started.
