Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 2 held

JAMMU, Oct 10: Ramban police today arrested two bovine smugglers and rescued nine bovines from their possession.
On a tip off, Police personnel laid a naka on National Highway and intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing registration No JK19-0624 loaded with five bovine animals, which were illegally being transported towards Kashmir valley. Police arrested the driver of the vehicle namely Mohd Sadeeq son of Bashir Ahmed and residence of Khanpura, Nagrota. Five bovines loaded in the vehicle had been rescued and the vehicle seized, a police spokesmen said, adding a case has been registered in this regard at Police Station Batote.
In another incident at Patnitop, police intercepted one Tata Mobile bearing registration No JK02W-9524 and rescued four bovines from the possession of driver of the vehicle, Mohd Saleem son of Mussa and residence of Pehra in Ramban, the spokesmen said, adding a case in this regard has been registered at Police Station Batote.
