SRINAGAR, Nov 11: J&K Board of School Education (BOSE) today organized 2-day workshop on Profession Development of Teachers.
The workshop was aimed at finalizing revision of course scheme of the two year Elementary Teacher Training Course (ETTC) run by private educational institutions, affiliated with J&K BOSE and one year D.E. Ed Course run by DIETs.
Educationists and subject experts participated in the workshop, besides the Secretary, J&K BOSE and Director Academics.
Various issues including capacity development of teachers, challenges in teacher preparation and emerging role of teacher training institution were threadbare discussed.
While addressing the workshop, the Advisor to Government for School Education said that the Government had initiated a slew of reformatory measures, besides revisions of curricular scheme for Diploma in Elementary Education. He said that the other initiatives currently in public domain are Right of Children to free and Compulsory Education, J&K BOSE Amendment Bill 2013, development of a separate cadre of Teacher Education and Review of Teacher Cadre Recruitment and Management Policy.
