UDHAMPUR, Nov 23: Police today arrested a bootlegger along with 40 pouches of illicit liquor near Bus Stand here today.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Udhampur Police Station intercepted a suspicious person near Bus Stand.
During search, police recovered 40 pouches of illicit liquor and arrested the bootlegger, who has been identified as Lal Chand, son of Dukli Chand of Chaki Bank Pathankote, Punjab, presently residing in Birwan bridge, district Udhampur.
A case under FIR number 378/13 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Udhampur Police Station and investigation started.
