JAMMU, Mar 2: An alleged bootlegger was arrested with 50 bottles of the illicit liquor from Dhanger Kaleeth area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Post Jourian, today.
A police spokesperson said that information was received through reliable sources that one person was selling illicit liquor at Dhanger Kaleeth area.
On this, he said, special teams of Police Post Jourian, led by SHO Akhnoor, assisted by incharge Police Post Jourian, laid a special naka at Dhanger Kaleeth and rounded up the suspected person, later identified as Desh Bandhu of Dhanger Kaleeth, Tehsil Khour.
During search of the suspect, he said, 50 bottles of illicit liquor was recovered from his possession.
Police have accordingly arrested and booked the accused under the relevant sections of the law registered at Police Station Akhnoor and further investigation taken up.
