POONCH, Apr 11: While foiling a bid of smuggling illicit liquor, a police team in Mendhar sub division of Poonch district, arrested one person and recovered 12 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Mahesh Chander, son of Harbans Lal, residence of Gohlad in Mendhar. Police said that a team headed by PSI, Rohit, under the supervision of SHO Mendhar, Manzoor Kohli laid a naka and intercepted a person from whom illicit liquor was recovered.
Police said that a case FIR No. 75/2022 under section 48- A, Excise Act has been registered in Mendhar Police Station and further investigation initiated.
