KATRA, June 26: Police today arrested a bootlegger and seized 42 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession.
During checking conducted by the officials of Police Station Katra, a van bearing registration number JK14A-9511, was stopped near Mehari bridge. During search of the vehicle, 42 poly pouches of J&K Excise, 250/250 ML each, were recovered from the vehicle.
Police seized the liquor pouches as well as the van and also arrested its driver Babu Ram of Padairna, Kishtwar (A/P Katra). A case FIR/No 119/17 U/S 48(a) Excise Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Katra.
