Bootlegger convicted

KATHUA, July 7: Sub Judge, Special Mobile Magistrate Kathua Sunil Sangra convicted a bootlegger to simple imprisonment for a term of two years and judicial fine Rs 3000.
According to the case, on February 18 2014, Raj Kumar, son of Tarseem Lal of Chak Dhrab Khan, District Kathua was arrested with 15 liters of illicit liquor while selling liquor illegally near Canal Chak Drab Khan.
On this, a case under FIR Number 63/14 under Section 48-A Excise Act was registered at police station Kathua through Police Post Nagri against said accused person.
After the completion of investigation, challan of the case was produced in the court of law on May 17, 2014 for judicial determination.
Sunil Sangra, Sub Judge, Special Mobile Magistrate, Kathua today convicted the said accused to simple imprisonment for a term of two years and judicial fine Rs 3000.  In case accused fails to make deposit of judicial fine then he will serve addition simple imprisonment for six months.
