SAMBA, Nov 13: Continuing its drive against the menace of illicit trade of drugs and liquor, District Police Samba recovered 50 bottles of illicit liquor after arresting an accused person in the jurisdiction of Police Station, Ramgarh.
Acting on reliable information, regarding transportation of illicit liquor a police party of Police Station, Ramgarh, laid a vehicle checking naka at Chak Salarian, Ramgarh and intercepted one van bearing Registration Number, JK21F-4912, which was coming from Vijaypur side and moving towards Ramgarh.
During checking of the vehicle, a total of 50 bottles of illicit liquor J&K Excise whiskey 180 ml each were recovered. The accused person identified as driver, Rakesh Kumar S/o Nand Lal R/o Amowal, Vijaypur has been arrested on spot and contraband item was also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 112/2020 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act registered at PS Ramgarh and investigation started.
