Bootlegger arrested, 20 bottles of liquor seized

SAMBA, Nov 28: Intensifying its drive against the sale of illicit liquor, district police Samba has arrested a bootlegger and recovered 20 bottles of illicit liquor in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Samba today.
Acting on a information received from reliable source regarding sale of illicit liquor in Supwal area, a police party of Police Post (PP) Supwal headed by in charge PP, Inspector, Meenu Sharma rushed to the spot and apprehended a person namely Satnam, son of Baba Singh of Chak Ram Chand, Supwal, running a chicken shop at Village Chak Ram Chand, Supwal. He was selling illicit liquor to the general public at exorbitant rates to gain illegitimate profit.
While checking his shop, a total of 20 bottles of JK Special Desi Whisky of 180 ml each were recovered and seized on spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 347/2021 U/S 48 (f) Excise Act registered at P/S Samba and investigation started.
