Sir,
Tourism industry in the State is the most profit earning and profit giving industry in the J&K State. Nearly about 25 per cent people living the J&K State are directly or indirectly involved in the industry. Shikarawalas, boatmen, pony wallas, labourers, artisans, hoteliers are directly involved in the industry, the income of the State gets a filip when there is free flow of tourists to the State both from local, national and international places. It is in view of the importance of the industry that the Chief Minister, holding the charge of Tourism Department has mooted a plan to promote Gulmarg as India’s Davos where countries top businessmen and policy makers can hold annual summits to frame new strategies in economic development. So he has wooed cine stars to shoot films in the Valley as well as in Jammu. All kinds of tourism such as adventure tourism, religious tourism are having a solid base in the State. The extra-ordinary rush of tourists to Shri Mata Vaishnodevi is a solid example of the same.
The whole of J&K gets a new life when there is hustle and bustle of the tourists in the State. Apart from the very famous tourist places in Kashmir, places such as Mansar, Patnitop, Kud, Batote and Chenab valley can also be turned into tourist spots when every kind of facility is arranged and managed for the tourists. Let us believe in the firm principle of serving the tourists, whole heartedly so that they feel at home in the State.
Yours etc…
