JAMMU, Sept 20: A function was held at Govt College for Women (GCW), Parade here today in which two books ‘Farista’ and ‘Nari Chetna Di Kavita (Aalochana)’ written by Dr Snober, a promising Punjabi writer of J&K were released.
Dr. Baljeet Kour, HoD, Deptt of Punjabi, University of Jammu was the chief guest on this occasion whereas Dr. S.P Sarswat, Principal GCW Parade presided over the function.
Veteran writer Khalid Hussain, Dr. Baljeet Singh Raina, Chief Editor, Aabru (Punjabi magazine approved by UGC), Dr. Monojit, President, Punjabi Lekhak Sabha Jammu and Popinder Singh Paras, Editor, Sheeraza Punjabi were also present on the presidium.
Papers on released books were read out by Dr. Kamaldeep Singh, Dr. Mamta and Gurpreet Kour.
The chief guest appreciated the contribution of Dr. Snobar in enriching Punjabi literature.
Dr. S.P Sarswat complimented Dr. Snobar for her role as a poet and writer as well as a good teacher.
The function was attended by well known writers and poets like Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik, Bhupinder Singh Raina, Hang S. Verman, Ashok Sharma, Amarjeet Kour Neer and others.
Dr. Anuradha conducted proceedings of the programme and vote of thanks was extended by Dr. Snobar.
