Book snatcher arrested

JAMMU, Apr 19: Sarwal police arrested a book snatcher from Rehari area.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Sarwal police post laid a naka near Rehari and intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances outside bookseller shop.
Sensing trouble, the man tried to escape from the spot, but the cops chased and nabbed him.
During questioning, the man disclosed that he use to snatch the books from booksellers shops. After in-depth enquiry, it came to fore that the accused had committed books snatchings in various areas including Akhnoor, Gandhi Nagar, Chinore, Paloura, etc.
The accused has been identified as Manthan Sethi, son of Raj Pal, a resident of Gandhi Nagar.
Recoveries are still to be made from the accused.
A case has been registered against the accused at Sarwal police post and further questioning of the accused is going on.
Police team led by Incharge Sarwal police post SI Vikas Hans made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Ashwani Sharma and SDPO West Sugandha Mahajan.
