“Book reading gives more kick than coffee”

Unless a student was physically robust, healthy and alert, one cannot excel in one’s studies as a sick person cannot be said to learn and absorb nicely. Do students now-a-days use libraries during spare time? Has the digital world and the fastest spreading IT technology replaced the grandeur and glory of libraries with Google “teacher” available all the 24 hours? Has the pressure, the tension, the nuances of cut throat competition to secure and score prominent positions in exams left very little choice to majority of students to sojourn a library for an hour or so in a college and higher education institutions? Has , again shortage of time, lengthy and even most of the unavoidable stuff of syllabi, on-line systems prevailing all round , shortage of space and deficient paraphernalia in most of educational institutions shrunk and squeezed the scope of ”using” of a playground and even, otherwise, how parents take no initiatives in encouraging their wards to play and sweat or everything must be left to the Government to take care of ? Perhaps , feeling concerned about all these factors, the Chief Justice Of India has stressed upon reading books, using libraries and playgrounds reminding about the belief that reading a book provided more stimulus and a thrill than a cup of coffee. Schools, colleges , higher education institutions, therefore, must encourage libraries and playgrounds and their utilities.
