Book Fair under RMSA organized

REASI, May 27 : A one day district level Book Fair under RMSA was organized by DIET Reasi today. The Fair was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Reasi-Sushma Chauhan.
Speaking on the occasion, Chauhan said, “Books are an integral part of our lives, more so for students. At an early age if they get access to good books and inculcate reading habit, it eventually broadens their outlook as well as knowledge. Children’s interest grows towards books with such fairs and they get a variety of books under one roof.”
Earlier, Principal DIET -Jatu Ram said that the main objective of organizing this Book-Fair is to select quality text books especially for Class 9th, 10th and for Libraries of the schools. He said that for selecting good quality text books, an expert committee of lecturers for every subject has been framed.
District Youth & Sports Officer- Dr  S.S. Chib,  ZEO Reasi- Bodh Raj, ZEPO Reasi- Ali Khan, Head Punjabi Section, J&K Academy Of Art Culture and Languages- Popinder Singh and staff of DIET Reasi were also present on the occasion.
The book stalls were installed by the book sellers/publishers from different districts of the state. The subject experts in different subjects from different schools went through the displayed books and made a list of approved books. The books in the exhibition covered almost all the subjects taught from 9th to 12th standard students.
All the students visited the book fair and were overwhelmed to see the different variety of books displayed. It also gave them a broad vision and an opportunity to enjoy the company of books.
