Body retrieved from landslide

RAMBAN, Feb 24: Police today retrieved body of a man, which got trapped in landslide near Battery Chasma on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
As per police sources, a truck bearing registration number of JK14A-4827 on its way to Jammu from Srinagar was trapped under the debris due to landslide near Battery Chasma late last evening.
Police, Red Cross volunteers and Quick Rescue Teams rushed to the spot and recovered the body of one of the occupant of the truck, who has been identified as Uttam Singh, son of Sham Singh of Akhnoor.
The body of one another identified as Deepu, son of Kewal Krishan of Rajeev Nagar, Narwal was also recovered by police and rescue team today.
The bodies were handed over to legal heirs after completing legal formalities.
The vehicular movement on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway which came to standstill due to landslide was restored this evening.
