As the body of cop was consigned to flames the slogans Ajay Dhar Amar Rahe rent the air and his colleagues as well as his friends and relatives gave a tearful adieu to him.
Meanwhile, the family members of slain cop have demanded a CBI or high level probe into his killing as they suspected foul play in it. They said the Sentry who claimed to have fired upon the cop was his colleague and how he took him for mistaken identity. Moreover, how the sentry targeted his head as he was supposed to first fire the warning shots, they added and demanded a high level probe to bring facts to light.
BJP spokesperson and former MLC, Ajay Bharti said that that the police version on the mistaken identity is not sustainable and family of slain cop as well as community is not satisfied with it. He said “Based on changing statements of police we apprehend it is plain murder and only an impartial and through probe will bring facts to light”,.
He said as per family version the cop has finished his duty at 10 pm and he was again called by the Munshi to report back on this pretext that his reliever has not come. “Moreover, if he was fired upon by SLR his head might have split which was totally intact. Now the police said that bullet only touched his skull then how he died is a big question”?, he added.
Bharti said there are three to four ATMs in the vicinity of temple and why did not any guard of any ATM heard the sound of fire. Same has been the version of wailing mother of slain cop who said that it is a plain murder and demanded probe into killing of her son.
Meanwhile, Kashmiri Pandit Sabha (KPS) has also demanded a thorough probe into the unfortunate incident that took place in Handwara in which a young cop belonging to community was shot dead by the sentry who was his colleague.
