Body of army martyr reaches Samba, cremation today

SAMBA, Dec 17: The mortal remains of army jawan, Koushal Singh S/O Chuni Singh of Sarna Samba who attained martyrdom along with his four other colleagues after the army post in Gurez Sector in Kupwara district of Kashmir Valley was hit by a snow avalanche  some days back was brought to his native village in Samba today.
It will be cremated at the Cremation ground in Utterbeni with full military honours.
His body was brought through a special chopper from Srinagar to Samba today and after landing at military helipad Samba it was taken into an army vehicle to his native village.
A pal of gloom descended on the village after the body of martyr reached there with mourners gathered at the residence of martyr wailing and sobbing.
The family of martyr was in utter shock and grief while for the villagers it was totally unbelievable. The army men accompanying the body to the village had no words to console the mourners especially family members.
SSP Samba, Anil Magotra along with other police officers including SHO Samba, Chanchal Singh were also visited the village to receive the body.
