BMS holds protest, takes out rally to project demands

JAMMU, Apr 17: To project their demands, Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh held protest and took out a massive rally, here today.
Hundreds of employees from different Government departments and industrial workers assembled near MA Stadium here under the banner of Bhartiya Mazoor Sangh.
Amid slogans, the protesting workers were demanding hike in salary, revision of minimum wages, abolishing contract labour system, enhance medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month, improvement in provident fund organization working, implement 7th pay commission, regularization of NHM employees, anganwadi workers and daily wagers and constitution of different Labour Advisory Boards under different labour laws.
They said that the Government has failed to redress the genuine demands of the workers and employees including anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, NHM employees and building construction workers.
Later, the protesting workers and employees took out a rally led by KC Mishra, All India Organizing Secretary, Ram Dass Pandy, Zonal Incharge, Subash Verma, State President, Swarna Chowdhary, President Anganwadi Workers Association and senior leader Lakshman Ravinder Singh, senior leader of BMS.
The rally started from MA Stadium and after passing through Dogra Chowk, main bazaar of Jammu City culminated at Indira Chowk.
While addressing the workers, KC Mishra said that in the name of labour law reforms, the Central Government should not add anti Labour clauses in different labour law codes.
He asked the state Government to redress the demands of the workers and working class after holding talks with the representatives of the workers.
Among others present were LR Singh, Subash Verma, Ashok Choudhary, Neelam Sharma, Rohit Seth, President, NHM Employees Association, Ishfaq Ahmed Chouhan, leaders from different districts.
