BMS celebrates foundation day as ‘Demands Day’

JAMMU, July 23: Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) Jammu and Kashmir celebrated its 59th foundation day all over the State as “Demands Day” of workers.
All affiliated unions including Industrial workers, Anganwadi workers, un-organized sector workers, Public sector, Local bodies, cooperative sector, Banking Industry and Government employees held meetings of the workers at different places all over the State, distributed sweets among the workers and congratulated each other.
The labour leaders while addressing the workers highlighted the demands of the workers, noble principals of BMS and trade union movements in India as well as International level for the welfare of workers.
Their demands included fixing Rs 15000 as minimum wages for the Industrial workers, Anganwadi workers and helpers, implementation of labour laws in letter and spirit, abolishment of contract system in the State, ensuring social security of all the workers and covering them under ESI and EPF scheme properly, etc.
