BMS celebrates 64th foundation day

JAMMU, July 23: Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) today celebrated its 64th foundation day throughout the State.
All affiliated unions of BMS celebrated the day with enthusiasm and distributed sweets among the workers. The functions were organized by Salal Project Workers Union NHPC Salal Jyotipuram, ASCOMS Welfare Association, Batra Hospital Sidra, Jammu Cooperatives Wholesales Workers Union, Super Bazar, Jammu and PHE Daily Wagers Union.
The Sangh Flag was hoisted by Subash Verma, State president, BMS in the State office. The main function was organized at Industrial Complex, Bari Brahmana in which hundreds of workers from different industrial units participated.
While addressing the workers, State General Secretary, Ashok Choudhary highlighted the principles of BMS as Dhotopant Thengdim, while announcing a national level trade union strictly said that BMS shall be of the workers, for the workers and character will be non-political and anyone who wish to join politics have to quit the BMS. “Thengdim laid three principles– Rashtara Heit, Udyog Heit and Shramik Heit and BMS is working on these principles,” he added.
Harbans Choudhary, while speaking on the occasion, stressed upon the Labour Department for strict implementations of labour laws as at present there is grave violations. He said that 12 hours duty is being taken in industries but over time is not paid to the workers; no ESI Cards are given to workers nor PF pass books or account numbers are provided to workers and Labour department has totally failed to discharge its duties sincerely.
“There is mess in PF organization as on the name of online service workers are facing to much hardships and field staff are also not discharging their duties sincerely as less workers are being covered with vested interest,” Choudhary said and appealed Governor to shunt out black sheep’s from the Labour department so that workers in the private sector get justice.
