BLSKS stages play “Nasha Nahi Karna”

JAMMU, Aug 30: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) staged musical play “Nasha Nahi Karna’, written by Dr ML Dogra at Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Rehari in its 341st Tuesday series, here today.
The event was organised under the overall direction of Dr ML Dogra. A pledge was also taken by more than 200 students and teachers, which was recited by MC Kotwal, secretary of BLSKS, followed by the host School Principal was awarded with a certificate, issued by the Ministry of Social Justice.
The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest Principal of the School, Tahira Parveen Shawl, Renu Saproo, Dr Sushma Rani, Pooja  Rani, Sachin and others were present during the event. The day was commemorated as well with the sole aim of rejuvenating the traditional, Primitive Folk Art Culture of J&K region. The specially items prepared on the theme “Jan Gan Man’’, “Ekta Ka Diya’’,  “Nasha Nai Kario Munde Kureio’’, along with Nukkad, Skits , Songs and Dances were presented to aware the masses.
The chief guest highlighted the dangers of drug use and their illegal trade and said that it provides educational material among teachers to spread the message about the ill effect of the drugs. “We have come together to strengthen our determination against drug abuse in any form and to send a message to the world that India will leave no stone unturned to fight against this evil,” he said.
Welcome speech was given by Dr ML Dogra, chairman of BLSKS said the current statistics on the rise in suicides and mental health issues has led the Government to take the much required action for drug demand reduction. The ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’, the flagship campaign of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is an initiative in this stride.
Secretary MC Kotwal said our volunteers and outreach workers of the organization have gone from door to door and nearby localities of Jammu city to educate the people about the ill effects of drug abuse and have assisted the rehabilitation of victims of substance abuse.
The singers, musician and actors who performed in the play were MC Kotwal, Raju Bajgal, Rajni Gupta, Chahat Chadha, Sudesh Devi, Sant Dass, Rahul Kumar, Mukesh Singh, Zulekha Farid, Kajal, Gourav Kumar, Vandana Gupta and Sunil Kumar Dalotra, while Deepak Kumar Dogra, Programme in-charge, presented vote of thanks.
