JAMMU, July 11: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sanasthan (BLSKS) in collaboration with Unison Cultural Troupe, Sangam Tru Art Production and ESRM staged musical play “Betiyan Jagat Ka Ujala Hain” as parts of its regular feature at 197-Durga Bhawan, Janipur, Jammu.
The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest, VK Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India, while Dr Anju Dogra, Vinod Dogra and Romesh Chander were the guests of honor.
The play written, produced and directed by ML Dogra (chairman BLSKS) reflects the agony of two conservative families who are bent upon getting their daughter and son married at tender age, ignoring the advice of intellectuals of the society.
The marriage soon turns into a disaster making the life of both bride and groom miserable. Even bride ends her life owing to pangs of pregnancy at childhood after delivery of a dead baby. The cries of baby girl in womb of the mother caution all – “Don’t kill me. I will be your helping hand in old age”.
The  songs  sung by the artists and all students of the institute are “Dhiyan Gi Na Marro”, “Mang Rahi Hai Beti Jag Mai Jine Ka Adhikar”, “ Baiman Lok Kase Diya Mar Re”, “ Sun –Sun Saheli Meri Sun, Paruhn Likhu Yehi Meri Dhun” , “ Kya Pier Kahun Apne Mann Ki”. The music was composed by renowned singer, Raju Bajgal .
Those who performed were Usha Handoo, KK Joshi, MC Kotwal, Raju Bajgal (Harmonium), Surinder Verma (Dholak), Aryan Verma (Tabla), Shaksham Khajuria, JK Raina, Rajni Gupta, Neelam Gandotra, (Tabla/Singer), Hem Raj, Kamli Devi, Sunil Kumar, Rajat Verma, Shivani Disgotra, Deevam Jandiyal, Maitri Salaria, Rakshit Sharma, Darsh, Dhruv Pandit, Pranavi Khajuria, Rajanya Khajuria, Darsh,   Abhyudaya Sharma, Rajveer, Vandana Gupta, Anantika Sharma, Neha Bhat, Shan Khan, Rajesh Kumar, Bhumika Chib, Neelam Chib and Ayush Bhat.
