JAMMU, July 22: To promote traditional folk culture of J&K and celebrate “National Parents Day”, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) staged 166th Saturday series musical play “Mamta ” in co-ordination with Bhatkhande Sangeet Institute, National College of Computer Education Janipur and Sangam Tru Art Production as part of its regular feature in the office premises today.
The program was inaugurated by the chief guest V K and Magotra and Dr Tara Singh Charak, Dr A C Bhagat, Dr Anju Dogra and Vinod Dogra were the guests of honour.
The musical was written by M L Dogra Chairman (BLSKS). The programe commenced with songs “Pado Padyao Sab Ge Loko Jagte Bi Padyao Munde Kudiya Ek Braber Jan Jan Eh Samjhao”, “Hath Maape Da Sire Pur Jinde Oye Tarkiyaan Pande Ne”, “Maa Teri Surat Se Alag Bagwan Teri Surat Kya Hogi”. Music of the play was composed by Raju Bajgal, Music Instructor, BLSKS.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest lauding the role of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan, underlined the importance of staging such plays in all parts of the State to generate awareness among the masses about various social evils through theatre and drama which are still very powerful medium of communication and also said that National Parents’ Day was established in 1994.
The singers, musician and actors who performed were M C Kotwal, general secretary BLSKS, Hem Raj, secretary, Renu Saproo, Dhruv Pandit, Deevam Jandiyal, Himika, Sakshi, Sumeta Bhat, Sawan Koul, Afroz Raaz, Mukesh, Muktiar, Shiv Kumar, Vansh Raina, Megha Raina, Asha Kaul, Rakshit Sharma, Ujwal Sharma, Parul Sharma, Nitin Sharma, Darsh, Ayush Bhat and many others presented the enthralling performance. Master Deepak Kumar presented vote of thanks.
