“Misery is caused by sin, and by no other cause.” Swami Vivekananda. At this critical moment we the humans are confronted with a worst kind of misery across the Globe in the form of Covid-19. Certainly the present lot of Homo sapiens inhabiting the earth planet appear to have violated the nature’s order causing horrible disturbance in her divine system which is construed as a cumulative grave sin committed by the humans resulting into fearful natural misery, calamity or disaster whatever nomenclature we assign to it. Having said that now when we stand gripped by the highly tormenting disaster whose fool proof vaccine is still elusive and the overall scenario is exceedingly gloomy wherein all most all segments of human population have been severely hit, there is one large chunk of our progeny, blooming buds, tiny tots, siblings, cute, tender kids whose childhood has come under a cloud. They are losing it day by day, missing it helplessly in cocoon life enforced by the Covid-19 scare. These blooming buds happen to be the kids from nursery to class 5th in particular and up to class 8th in general and even up to 10th class. It is high time to discuss, analyse and address the sensitive issue on priority.
According to a predominant view of experts in the field of education it is widely held that a child must be allowed to grow as freely as a tree grows without unreasonable interference from any quarters. However, this view is not largely supported when we make an effort to examine the overall scenario prevailing in the cross section of the society coupled with life style, traits, habits, typical characteristics, emotional and intelligence quotient as well as the family environment of the Tiny tots, blooming buds and tender siblings belonging to diverse segments of society. To our utter surprise we stumble over number of cases in the affluent section of the society, upper middle and lower middle classes where there is excessive intervention from the deeply worried and stressed parents and the guardians.
This is not a good augury and needs to be taken care of on top most priority. The ongoing Covid-19 scenario poses multiple challenges. No doubt the common people have been sensitized and trained to practise due precautions and requisite preventive measures but not to the point of reasonable satisfaction. Beyond an iota of doubt all segments of society have seen have been facing the heat but unarguably the most vulnerable component of human society are our blooming buds, our little angels, our valued progeny who represent our glorious future. They are the foundation of a good family as well as a strong society and the self reliant nation. We can ill afford to ignore and neglect this indispensable constituent of our indomitable society and our real worldly property as well as prosperity.
During these trying times of ghastly corona pandemic the lovely tiny tots are facing a great deal of hardships such as:- virtually they are locked up in the homes, schools have been shut down since march, 2020 there is no outing to the places of their interest, by and large the households stand reduced to the status of nuclear families with one or two children. Everyone does not have a spacious house to have a badminton court, tennis court, table tennis room, to be brief, they are almost blocked from playing outdoor games, there is excessive use of mobile phones, television, laptops, computers etc. small kids do have access to all these electronic gadgets. In most of the cases the children are lured by parents and other members to watch or enjoy programs of their choice during the course of eating meals to slice away some of their valuable time for their personal entertainment. On the top of it tiny tots are being subjected to on line tuition classes which most of the schools have started to facilitate the pupils to remain in touch with the studies and the teachers during the transition period. This is further adding up to the tormenting woes of our stressed progeny. This gloomy scenario has to be taken care of on priority.
The most significant initiative we need to put into action is to earmark VALUABLE TIME from our colossal list of day to day priorities. Needless to mention that time is too scarce in these mechanical times of KALIYUGA. Certainly the time is priceless that is why it needs be devoted to the young ones for perfect upbringing for the sake of laying down a solid foundation and shaping up an outstanding personality who would be instrumental in building up a vibrant and self reliant society. Diplomatically avoid unreasonable use of technology by the blooming buds.
The concerned authorities must make provision for a well laid up and spacious playgrounds for children of all ages in localities. We know the famous war of WATERLOO was won in the play grounds of England. In the din of fast and competitive life the siblings are losing charm and glamour of their childhood. This is opportune time to turn focus on this imperative issue. All elders must revive the tradition of storytelling to the kids for entertainment, to develop good bonding and inculcating moral values and good manners. It will also boost up their emotional quotient together with intelligence quotient which is a burning requirement of the current times. Make an effort to impart them Yogic education e.g few Asans, Suryanamaskar and Pranayams in accordance with their age.
This will be our real investment for glorious future of the country. In our worldly life we always look for quality seedlings in the nurseries for the sole purpose of having healthy plants and flowers replete with enchanting fragrance and colourful appearance. Ours is a vast country having diverse cultures and communities with multiple challenges for which we need leaders and organisers like Sardar Patel, Scientists like Dr. Jagdish chander Vasu, Dr. Homi Jahangir Bhava, Educationists like Dr.Sarav Palli Radhakrishnan, Warrior like Rani Lakshami Bhai, and fighters like PVC Capt. Vikram Batra, Reformers like Guru Nanak Dev ji, Sportsmen like Hockey wizard Dhyan Chand, Revolutionaries like Bhagat singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, Monks like Vivekananda and Military commander like field Marshal Manekshah and many more suchlike stalwarts. Let us rise to the occasion and play our role diligently, surely we shall get them in abundance for facilitating the Motherland to reach the pinnacle of glory.
