Block Health Mela organized at Kotranka

RAJOURI, Apr 23: Celebrating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav to commemorate 75 years of Independence, a mega Health Mela was organised today at Irrigation Ground Kotranka by the Health Department for providing multiple health services to the public.
The event was organised under the directions of Director Health Services Jammu Dr Saleem Ur Rahman. The mela was conducted successfully under the guidance and supervision of Vikas Kundal, District Development Commissioner Rajouri and Dr Shamim Bhatti, CMO Rajouri.
Hundreds of people participated and availed benefits free of cost. The event was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kotranka, Surinder Mohan.
Ayushman Bharat- SEHAT Golden Cards were issued on the spot by a team. Many Specialist doctors including Physician, Eye Specialist, Gynae Specialist, Dental specialist etc provided quality medical check-up services to the people. Lab services including sputum examination were available on the spot. Medical screening of non-communicable diseases like hypertension and diabetes were also conducted. All medicines were made available free of cost to the public. YOGA and Mental Health counters also catered to the needs of the people.
Dr Iqbal Malik, BMO Kandi monitored the progress of different sections and ensured best possible services to the public of Block Kotranka.
A total of 1670 patients consulted various counters at the Mela. The Medical Board issued 175 old age certificates, disability certificates, widow certificates etc for pension schemes.
