Blind hit & run case solved, accused driver arrested

JAMMU, Sept 19: Domana Police solved a blind hit and run case with the arrest of accused driver.
As per police sources, on September 14 this year an information was received at Police Station Domana from reliable sources that a motorcyclist namely Kewal Krishan, son of Chuni Lal of Gurha Keran was hit by one unknown vehicle at Gajay Singh Pura. The driver of the unknown vehicle fled away from the spot along with the vehicle after hitting the motorcyclist. Some locals shifted the victim to GMC Jammu where he succumbed to his injuries.
On the information, a case under FIR Number 259/2021 under Sections 279 and 304-A IPC was registered at Police Station Domana and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Domana led by SHO Inspector Mahesh Sharma was constituted under the supervision of SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul.
The team did strenuous efforts and with the help of analysis of CCTV footages of different locations along with technical assistance and timely human intervention, identified the driver of the said unknown vehicle and arrested him.
The accused driver has been identified as Rakesh Singh, son of Gopal Singh of Doha Thara Dansal, District Jammu. The vehicle involved in the accident has been also recovered and seized accordingly.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
